Amidst the rich cultural backdrop, we’ve joined forces with Saigon Children, our local partner NGO, to illuminate the path to education for the most vulnerable. This journey aims to dismantle barriers, opening doors to brighter futures for children facing extraordinary challenges.

Vietnam, despite economic progress, grapples with persistent obstacles, particularly in remote areas. Socioeconomic factors such as poverty, geographical constraints, limited access to knowledge, and disabilities form a complex tapestry that often denies children the opportunity to break free from the cycle of poverty through education.

The collaboration with Saigon Children initiated in 2019, marks a pivotal endeavor. SNI’s commitment intertwines with the Child Development Scholarship Program, a comprehensive initiative designed to dissolve barriers and pave the way for education from primary school to university. The program encompasses scholarships covering tuition fees, books, food, uniforms, stationery, and crucial social care elements.

Unpacking the Scholarships

This initiative strategically addresses the intricate challenges faced by students:

  • Tuition Relief: Direct support from SNI eases the financial burden of tuition, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder the pursuit of education.
  • Educational Tools: Comprehensive scholarships provide students with essential materials like books and stationery, empowering them with the resources needed for academic excellence.
  • Basic Essentials: Beyond the classroom, the program addresses fundamental needs with rice provisions and uniform support, alleviating financial stressors and allowing students to focus on learning without distractions.
  • Holistic Support: Recognizing the importance of emotional well-being, the program integrates social care, creating a supportive network for vulnerable children.

Since the collaboration’s inception, SNI’s involvement has significantly increased educational opportunities for thousands of Vietnamese children. By dissolving socioeconomic barriers, the initiative nurtures resilience in these children, enabling them to navigate challenges, pursue higher education, and break free from the shackles of generational poverty.

In the school year 2022-2023, Saigon Children successfully provided scholarships that facilitated the education of 1,989 disadvantaged students.
