At Sponsorship Network International, our commitment to making a difference in the lives of those in need has fueled transformative initiatives worldwide. In Kenya, a country rich in culture yet grappling with economic challenges, we strive to be a beacon of hope.

Since 2016 our partnership with FCM (Family Care Missions) exemplifies the tangible impact and meaningful change that our generous contributors, including Swiss businesses, have brought to communities in Kenya. The positive outcomes underscore the transformative power of corporate collaboration, showcasing the significant changes unfolding in the lives of those we strive to support.

In the heart of the Bombolulu slum, the Olives Rehabilitation Center has been a longstanding focus for Family Care Missions. With SNI’s dedicated support, we have played a crucial role in providing education to 130 children, ranging from Nursery Level to Standard 8. The sponsorship has not only facilitated government exams but have also paved the way for high-achieving students to pursue higher education and employment opportunities.

Kenya SteveIn project

Nestled in the Nairobi Gichagi slum, Stev-In Junior School educates 130 children from the surrounding impoverished settlement. For nearly ten years, Family Care, supported by SNI, has been instrumental in providing school lunches, meeting educational needs, offering sponsorships, and conducting essential repairs at the school.

In response to Kenya’s recent economic challenges, through the Care Package Project we provided 60 of the most vulnerable families with food aid, mitigating the hardships caused by unemployment and rising poverty.

The Fruits of Our Efforts:

The impact of SNI’s contribution in 2023 extends across various facets of the supported initiatives:

  • School Lunch Program Supplies: Aiding in the prevention of malnutrition among children from poverty-stricken families.
  • Educational Materials: Providing new textbooks, exercise books, and reference materials.
  • Allowances for Low-Income Teachers and Staff: Recognizing and supporting the dedicated educators.
  • Infrastructure Improvements: Repairing Olives & Stev-In kitchens, providing new pots, pans, plates, and cups, and refurbishing toilet facilities.
  • Classroom Furniture: Supplying 30 chairs and two long tables for pre-primary classes, ensuring a conducive learning environment.
  • Special Meals: A heartwarming gesture with a special meal, including drinks and dessert, for all children and teachers.
  • Care Packages: Distributing 60 large care packages to the poorest families of both pupils and teachers. Addressing the critical issue of girls missing school due to the lack of sanitary products, Sanitary Napkins for Teenage Girls is an ongoing initiative in Kenya.
  • School Lunch Program Funding: Allocating funds for the first two months of the new year to sustain the School’s Lunch Program.

Kenya, a nation known for its diverse landscapes and vibrant communities, faces socio-economic challenges that impact the lives of its people. Through our initiatives, SNI aims to be a catalyst for positive change, contributing to the well-being and prosperity of the communities we serve.

At SNI, our impact in Kenya has been profound, transcending geographical boundaries to touch the lives of those in need. The Olives Rehabilitation Center, Stev-In Junior School, and the Care Package Project stand as testament to the positive change that can be achieved through collective compassion.
