From Orphans to Caretakers – Nearly a Decade of Football, Mentorship, and Hope in Hungary

A Football Camp That Goes Beyond the Game

For nearly ten years, Sponsorship Network International has partnered with Love is the Answer Non-Profit Association in Hungary. Our collaboration is built on a shared mission: to bring hope, opportunity, and dignity to children who need it most. Over the years, this partnership has touched countless young lives, showing how consistent care and meaningful programs can create long-lasting change.

“We had the joy of hosting our 15th football camp with 50 orphaned and underprivileged children.

From the very first day, the field was alive with energy — the sound of cheering, laughter, and children celebrating every goal. What unfolded, though, went far beyond football.

Through team-building games and fun activities, the kids discovered the value of trust, friendship, and working together. For many of them, it was a rare chance to feel supported, encouraged, and truly part of something bigger than themselves.

One of the most touching moments was seeing two young men, Zoli and Dani, return to the camp.

Fifteen years ago, they were orphans themselves, starting out in our Inter Campus program. Back then, they faced the same struggles as the children we work with today. But through football, mentorship, and consistent care, they found direction and hope.

This time, they didn’t come as participants — they came as coaches. Watching them guide the children with patience, lift spirits after a missed shot, and celebrate even the smallest successes was beyond moving.
Their journey has come full circle, and they now stand as living examples that with love and opportunity, lives can truly be transformed.

We are so proud of them — not just for who they have become, but for the way they now give back.

This camp was full of joy and unforgettable memories, but most of all, it was full of hope.

The Magic of the Annual Football Camp

One of the highlights of the year is the Inter Campus football camp. This annual free of charge Inter Campus football camp is organized by Love is the Answer Association. Through fun activities, swimming, arts and crafts, games the camp continues to transform lives.

It’s a big deal for the kids—a safe and supportive space where they can connect, break down barriers, and find strength in themselves, as well as in each other.

This camp shows how football is more than just a game; it’s a way to bring people together, create lasting bonds, and inspire kids to overcome challenges.

From Orphanage to Role Models: True Life Stories

Take Zoli, Mark, and Dominik, for example. These three guys grew up in a government orphanage, a place where resources are scarce, personal attention is limited, and breaking out of a tough cycle is really hard. Kids in these situations often struggle with feelings of abandonment and low self-esteem, and it can be tough to see a way out.

But for Zoli, Mark, and Dominik, the Inter Campus program was a game-changer. It gave them the resilience they needed to break free from that cycle. Through the program, they not only got to play football but also learned valuable life lessons—teamwork, perseverance, and self-worth.

Paying It Forward

Now, these three are back at the camp, but this time as educators and volunteers. They’re now professional caregivers for the next generation of orphans, sharing their experiences, and offering the kind of support only someone who’s been there can provide. Their deep understanding and personal experiences make them amazing teachers and caregivers. They connect with the kids on a level that goes beyond words, offering guidance and support that’s full of real understanding.

Love is the Answer’s Lasting Impact

The journey of Zoli, Mark, and Dominik is a shining example of what Love is the Answer is all about. The organization’s long-term commitment has not only helped these young men overcome their challenges but has also turned them into inspiring role models. Their stories show how powerful community support and positive role models can be, encouraging other kids to believe in themselves and dream big, no matter where they start.

— Love is the Answer partners with Inter Campus, the social program of FC Internazionale, to bring free sports activities to over 5,000 kids in Hungary since 2009. Through these activities, kids learn about inclusion, personal growth, and teamwork, helping them thrive both physically and emotionally, especially those who need it most.–
