The Deaf Reach Initiative (Pakistan)

Established in 1998, Deaf Reach focuses on addressing the educational needs of the marginalized and neglected of Pakistan, particularly deaf children and youth. Through a holistic approach to deaf education, skills training, job placement, and sign language development, Deaf Reach empowers individuals with special needs to overcome poverty and reach their full potential.

For more than a decade, Sponsorship Network International (SNI) has been a dedicated supporter of the Deaf Reach Initiative, working closely with our local partner, FESF, to provide equal opportunities to the deaf community in Pakistan. Through the ongoing sponsorship, SNI has played a vital role in enabling FESF to create positive change in the lives of deaf children and youth, fostering social impact and breaking down barriers to education and employment.

Deaf Reach has built a network of seven schools, training centers, and colleges, addressing the pressing need for deaf education in Pakistan. FESF’s program aims to bridge this gap by offering a comprehensive solution that encompasses education, skills training, teacher development, and community inclusion.

Deaf Reach’s schools, training centers, and colleges provide a full circle solution for the deaf community. They offer quality education and skills training, equipping students with the tools they need to succeed in their personal and professional lives. Their programs focus on academic development, vocational training, and job placement, ensuring that deaf individuals have the necessary skills to secure employment and contribute to society. Deaf Reach also provides a Parent Training Program that offers monthly sign language and literacy classes, empowering parents to actively participate in their child’s growth and improve their own literacy skills. The Job Placement Program plays a crucial role in empowering Deaf Reach graduates by providing employment opportunities. Through job placement, they ensure that their graduates have the chance to apply their skills, contribute to the workforce, and lead independent lives.

Our financial contributions and commitment have enabled the initiative to expand their reach, enhance their programs, and create lasting change in the lives of deaf children and youth in Pakistan.
